December 5-9

We're flying into December!  I cannot believe how fast this year is going!  As the weather gets colder and the snow starts barreling in, please remember to send your child to school with a hat, gloves, heavy jacket, snowpants, and boots.  Anyone without boots or snowpants will not be allowed to go on the playground.  Also, with the cold weather coming back to visit (it seems like we just got through this and it was summer!), we will be starting our Holidays Around The World activities next week.  This is a fun week where all Kindergarteners visit different classrooms (or countries) and learn about holidays celebrated all around the world.  They'll even get passports to confirm their visits!

Until then, here's a breakdown of this week.

Reading:
  • Letters: Gg and Ff
  • high-frequency word: here, this
  • still working on drawing conclusions and making inferences
  • Robust Vocabulary: anxious, huddle, moans, productive, idle, scrumptious
  • Reading Mrs. Wishy-Washy's Farm By Joy Cowley
  • Talking about how we form ideas when we write
Math:
  • Introducing symmetry, equal parts, and basic fractions

Have a wonderful week! Stay warm!

Mr. T
