November 28-December 2

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got some well-deserved rest in there somewhere.
Time to put away the turkeys because we're going to get right back to it in Kindergarten!  Lots of hard work, but exciting work ahead. Here's the breakdown of this week.

Reading:
  • Short vowel sound: i
  • high-frequency word: come
  • working on drawing conclusions and making inferences
  • Robust Vocabulary: squabble, mischief, uproar, tend, soggy, wabble
  • Reading Down on the Farm by Merrily Kutner
  • We will read, read, and read again (should see lots of progress in the next few weeks with another short vowel sound in the mix)
Math:
  • Problem solving and using visual thinking in relation to shapes and figures
  • Sorting various plane shapes
  • Moving plane shapes and noticing various positions
  • Introduction to symmetry
Social Studies:
  • Continue group discussions regarding being good listeners, using different types of voices (and knowing when to use those voices), and what it means to be an active and helpful member in a community.
 A happy week to everyone!
