Reading: Lesson 19
  • Phonemic Awareness: Identify middle sound in words
  • Word Building: -ox, -ix
  • High-Frequency Words: up, down
  • Robust Vocabulary: contrast, meander, tidy, famished, modify, unfortunate
  • Comprehension: Discussing reality/fantasy stories and working on summarizing stories
  • Literature: Reading Swing High, Swing Low by Fiona Coward and The Most Perfect Spot by Diane Good
  • Writing: Description of a Person and working on word choice in writing
Guided Readers (I will be reading these with students in groups of 4-5 throughout the week) 
  •  Lesson 19 Red (focuses on recognizing  and reading -ix, -ox, and -ax words)
  • Lesson 19 Blue (includes short sentences that focus on our most recent sight words. It also focuses on basic CVC -ix and -ox words)
  • Lesson 19 Green (includes more complex sentences)

  1. I can choose a book that is perfect for me to read and read by myself for 10-15 minutes (Free Read Center)-we are going to do this center twice from here on out. :)

      • Objectives: show numbers through 30 with 10-sticks and centimeter cubes; order and compare numbers through 30.

        • Objectives: explore shapes and combine them to make new shapes; make repeating patterns with shapes, sounds, and actions; draw matching lines to see more and fewer

      • 4.14: Partners of 10 with 5-Groups
        • Objectives: find partners of 10 in 5-groups; record sets or partners for 10, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2; develop spatial concepts
        • Vocabulary: 5-frame, partner, Tiny Tumbler, Math Mountain , lef, right, forward, ahead, back, apart, toward
      • 4.15: Addition Equations
        • Objectives: show teen numbers as a ten and extra ones; show teen numbers as 10 + 1-digit number, solve addition equations and explore addition strategies; order numbers 1 through 18
