Here's what's going in in the ol' Kindergarten classroom this week.
Reading:

- High-Frequency Words: she, good
- Writing about stories and writing original stories
- Recognizing main idea
- Using graphic organizers in writing and thinking about word choice in our writing
- Robust Vocabulary:appreciate, grace, host, lush, marvelous, constantly
- Reading My Teacher Can Teach...Anyone! By W. Nikola-Lisa and Bravo, Maurice! by Rebecca Bond
- New centers include counting money, handwriting (J, V), working with place value, capacity, writing original stories, writing/illustrating main idea, writing poetry, itouches, and smart board.
- Chapter 10: Data, Graphing, and Probability
- 10.1: making concrete graphs
- 10.2: reading picture graphs
- 10.3: making picture graphs
- Continuing our discussion about what cities and neighborhoods consist of (taking a neighborhood walk this week)
- Still working on building our own city/neighborhoods with blocks (will post pictures)
