February 22-25

Hello!

I hope everyone got a chance to enjoy the snow!  This is what winter's like, remember?  With a few days off, I'm sure we're all ready to get back at it and keep working hard.  We have a busy three day week in store with our 100th day on Wednesday and our first Read-A-Thon this Friday.  Don't forget, Read-A-Thon packets are due on Friday.  Watch for new pictures coming as we take part in these exciting events!

Here's the breakdown of the week:

Reading:
  • Reviewing Letters: W, X
  • Reviewing high-frequency words
  • Reviewing beginning and middle sounds in words
  • Identifying middle sounds in words
  • Reviewing beginning, middle, and end.
  • Responding to stories through writing and drawing
  • Using graphic organizers in writing
  • Robust Vocabulary: load, bound, steep, drooped, joyous, thrill, fantasy, jolly, versatile, agreed, contribute, spontaneously
Math:
  • Chapter 8
    • Reviewing penny, nickel, and dime
    • Introducing quarter and dollar
    • Introducing time and how clocks (digital and analog) work
I continue to be wowed by the dedication of Kindergarten students and their families.  Thank you all for your hard work!  Every student can now sit down and independently read to me, which I think is the most powerful gift any of us could ever have.  Congratulations to all!  We can only go up from here!

Have a wonderful week.

Mr. T
