October 10-14

Hello!

Hope you're all enjoying this beautiful weekend!  Vikings won, so there's something new, right?

Anyway, here's a breakdown of what we're covering in Kindergarten this week.


Math:
  •  Starting chapter 3, which is all about the numbers 0-5!
  • We will start making our very own math books this week
  • We will use the smartboard and use the itouches some time this week
Reading: 
  • Working on the letter C
  • High frequency word: go (reviewing I, my, the, and a)
  • Robust Vocabulary:appetite, savor, urgeny, aroma, surround, tradition
  • Skill of the Week: rhyming words (this should be fun!)
  • Reading the story "Bee-bim Bop!"
  • We are also going to learn about "sentences" and work on our writing conventions!
  • Centers on Wednesday and Thursday (lots of cool projects in store for this week!)

Science:
  • Making tree observations and recording our results in our tree books.
  • Investigating questions we have about trees

Other News:
  • Monday: Innisbrook Orders Due
  • Tuesday: Meeting our 4th Grade Buddies (Mrs. Henkels' Class)
